FAQs
Why study with Jiya Julia?
“My central belief is that within each of us lies a wise, ancient being, who knows exactly what they are doing. In every situation, we are always able to observe ourselves. From this understanding, all that is needed to bring more meaning, clarity, peace, joy and balance to our lives is awareness and love - awareness to be able to choose which path to take in each moment, and love to shift the vibration of these choices. All of these unique offerings will help you to let go of the layers of stories that distort your communication with this wise one, and empower you to share it with the world. Each experience, at its core, supports you to trust in yourself, trust in the voice inside you and in the channel of truth you carry.”

What type of yoga does Jiya Julia share?
Jiya Julia combines a therapeutic approach to asana, based on her own long journey of healing her spine, along with powerful shamanic leadership and evocative description. Her style is typically slow vinyasa or Hatha flow, incorporating mantra, pranayama breathwork and deep meditation. Woven through her classes are teachings from the Yoga Sutras, the Upanishads and the foundation of yoga, to bring the entire being back into balance. Her intention is to give students an opportunity to access the stillness of the mind, preparing the body for meditation; the foundation of Yoga.
Jiya is through and through a creative artist; her classes inspire connection to nature, creative expression, self love and self healing. Julia weaves powerful visual meditation, creative writing, ceremony, sound and somatic movement into her offerings. Her work invites students to explore their own experience in order to understand the process of healing and creativity from a personal, unique standpoint, calling on many rich and varied techniques from ten years as a teacher of teachers.
