Live on the land, in a conscious community, in a destination internationally renowned for its beauty!
The ‘Self Muse’ Retreat offers a sparkling container for tapping into a state of present connection to ignite creative freedom. Fed by the unparalled beauty and special energy of Lake Atitlan, this 4-night, 5-day journey into creative writing will awaken the subtle receptors within you that ‘plug you back in;’ to nature, yourself and to your sacred creative expression.
Receive daily intentions and writing prompts to unplug your words and invite deep and powerful self-inquiry. Tap into the universe that you are! Use yourself as a mirror to experience wonder. Explore consciousness techniques such as journeying, visualization, fire ceremony, nature hikes and traditional medicine songs from around the world. Activate your energy through practices such as yoga, dance, creative writing and journalling, music, freeflow art and flow consciousness exercises, based around themes designed to help you go deeper into your spiritual and creative process.
Whatever the form of art, it is a vehicle to enter flow consciousness, a trance-like state of creative connection where time and space disappear and you become completely engrossed in the act of expressing. There, a portal is opened for channelling from deep within you and beyond. During this retreat you will dive deep into the fantastic inspiration that you, yourself, can be, using the indigenous medicine of cacao to sharpen your sensitivity and open your awareness.
Whether you are experiencing physical, emotional or creative blockages, or simply looking for reconnection and space, this magical retreat offers a haven of inspiration.
Rest
Recharge
Reinspire
You are a fascinating being! No one has the unique perspective that you do. No one has the experience that you have. And you will never be able to see or know anything with the clarity that you can see or know yourself: your memories, your impressions, the tiny fragments of your life that seem so insignificant and yet are the true foundational flavors of life. YOU are the perfect inspiration for your words, something that can be connected to anytime, anywhere. We have lived thousands of lives wthin the one, and even the most mundane aspect of human experience can become a powerful fuel for honest reflection.
One of the most well-known examples of using the Self as a Muse is Mexican artist Frida Kahlo, whose own face became the fascination that underpinned her whole career. By using yourself and your life’s journey as the muse for your own creative writing, you can tap into a torrent of potent self-expression and unlock the potential for a long-lasting sense of inspiration, derived from within, that takes the form of both creative impulse and embodied self-love. Combined with yoga and embodiment practices, infused with self-inquiry, this experience has the potential to ignite a new wave of creativity and wholeness of self.
Through the course of this retreat
You will unblock any stagnation
Remember how to access inspiration
You will see yourself anew
And return refreshed
Your pen flowing
Your skin glowing.
Get your creative juice going
your lifeblood overflowing
Surround yourself
with minds that seek to express
with hearts that expand your own
Remember
life is sacred
and you are life itself.
